Our Commitment to Privacy

We respect the privacy of your information. We provide this explanation about our online information practices as a show of our commitment to protect your privacy.

We have strived to design and manage our site to meet current industry standards of privacy and security, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). While no web site can be 100% secure, QSINet® has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. The QSINet® Web Server uses encryption technology where required (i.e. in any transfer of private information that occurs over the public Internet) [clarify when required] called "Public-key infrastructure (PKI)" [define or refer] (http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/pkix-charter.html). QSINet® incorporates the use of server certificates to ensure private and authenticated communication by encrypting (via 128-bit SSL encryption standard) all user-identifying data between two parties (customer and Web site). In addition, our Web sites have the added benefit of "secure site verification" for Internet customers issued by Thawte™ (The Certificate Issuing Authority) that QSINet® is indeed a product of Quality Systems, Inc.

Access to our web server equipment is protected by physical plant security, with access limited to few personnel. Our database servers isare only accessible accessed by our web application through encrypted channels, by also using PKI certificates for authentication. [is this true?  What about ,net from inside and logging into basix?  SSH has cert’s right?  What about ftp?], and not accessible by any other party [other than whom?] over the Internet. Our server suite [room?] is continuously monitored for network intrusion [can you define? Are we really?].

The Information We Collect

We collect and store your Profile in order for you to interact with your healthcare provider, access and update information stored within your providers business (healthcare practice management) system, and perform tasks such as make payments or request or schedule appointments. You must enroll through a member provider’s website, and select a user name and password before you can access your protected healthcare information.

This site’s registration form requires that you give us your personal and controlled e-mail address (we strongly recommend that this not be your work-related address), the number of the billing account maintained with your healthcare provider and certain demographic information (e.g. your zip code, gender, birth date and primary telephone number).  Using your registration information, we develop a Profile for you in order for you to receive optimal benefits when you are using our Website.

We use this data in the aggregate to determine how much our customers use parts of our site so we can improve our site. We also provide this statistical information to third parties.
